New Patients at The Doreen Dentist

Your First Appointment

We want each of your trips to our office to feel like you’re visiting an old friend. Our warm, compassionate atmosphere is tailored to put your needs and comfort first. You’ll never be rushed through quickly or pressured into a treatment you don’t want. Patience and transparency frame everything that we do.

What to Bring With You

Our paperless office will email all of your new patient forms before your first appointment. That way you can complete them when it’s convenient, rather than rush to get here early. Please be sure to mention any specific concerns on your medical history form, as we’ll want to address those topics first.

When you arrive, be sure to bring a copy of your healthcare card. Some people also prefer to bring over records from their previous dental provider.
Enjoy attentive one-on-one care with ourentist for the duration of your appointment. We set aside extra time to get to know you and listen to your concerns. Plan to reserve about an hour of your time for your new patient visit. The majority of your appointment will likely be consulting back and forth with our providers.
Your initial checkup will include the following:
  • A comprehensive exam
  • Review of any notes on your medical history
  • Scale and polish
  • X-rays
  • Fluoride treatment

We will take as many high-resolution intraoral photographs that are needed at no additional charge to make note of any particular concerns. The enlarged images are visible on a chairside monitor so that you can see the same thing that we do.

If you’re visiting us because of an emergency, our primary goal will be to get you out of pain and treat the issue at hand. After we provide interim care, we’ll make a plan to see you back in two weeks for a full checkup (due to most emergencies being caused by a lapse in dental care).

Itemised Treatment Plan

Should you need treatment, we’ll print out a customised care plan that outlines each procedure and the pricing. Each service is transparent and tailored to the individual. Treatment costs can be broken up to suit your needs.

Freshen Up Before You Go

As you leave, we have a small area just to the side (before you reach the reception) with a mirror and sink. Feel free to take time to tidy up before you walk out the door so that you can look as fresh as your smile feels.

Payment Information

Claims are processed on-the-spot via HICAPS. All health funds are accepted, as well as Medicare’s Child Dental Benefits Scheme. If you have a health fund, you’ll never have to pay a gap on your children’s appointments up to age 18. Adults will pay a maximum gap of $49. We also offer customised payment plans to suit your needs and budget.

New Patient Special

We offer a current new patient special for families without health coverage. The flat introductory fee includes the cost of all necessary X-rays, regardless of how many are taken. If you need a particular area evaluated, we can take additional X-rays without adding to the price of your appointment.
