Principal Dentist
Dr Priya Balanarayanan is passionate about providing high quality, patient centred dental care in a warm, comfortable and welcoming environment.
After graduating from dental school in 2009 and successfully completing the Australian Dental Council examinations, Dr Priya has gained extensive experience across both public and private dental practices. She has been caring for patients at The Doreen Dentist for several years and is known for her kind ,gentle, caring and approachable nature.
Dr Priya takes the time to listen to her patients, understand their individual needs and help them feel comfortable and confident throughout their dental journey. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and has a particular interest in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, with a focus on achieving healthy, natural looking smiles.
Dr James Murphy
Dentist
Dr James Murphy graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from The University of Birmingham School of Dentistry in 2012. He passed the postgraduate MFDS (Membership of the faculty of Dental Surgery) Glasgow examinations in 2013.
James is an experienced, gentle and ethical Dentist who wants patients to understand their own dental health, so they can make good decisions. He knows that dental appointments can be a challenge for many patients, and aims to make visits as comfortable as possible.
A life long fitness enthusiast, James also enjoys good coffee, travel, as well as playing the Piano.
Monique Lozada
Dental Nurse
Monique is a friendly and dedicated Dental Nurse who has been part of The Doreen Dentist team since January 2025. She genuinely enjoys her role and loves being involved in all aspects of dentistry, with a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry and surgical procedures, including extractions.
With her warm and approachable nature, Monique is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable and well cared for throughout their visit. Whether she is assisting in the surgery or welcoming you at reception, Monique will always be happy to greet you with a friendly smile and make your experience at The Doreen Dentist a positive one.
Rachel Hill
Dental Co-ordinator / Receptionist
Rachel is an experienced and dedicated Dental Coordinator and Receptionist with an extensive background in the dental industry and customer service. She holds a Certificate IV in Dental Assisting, with qualifications in dental radiography, along with experience in reception and office administration. She also holds a Diploma in Community Services.
Having worked in customer service in Melbourne since 1998, Rachel brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to The Doreen Dentist. Throughout her career, she has also worked as an agency dental nurse across Victoria, gaining valuable experience in a variety of dental settings and roles.
Rachel also enjoys chair side nursing whenever required , including assisting with oral surgery, complex dental procedures and laboratory related work. She has also worked with the School Dental Service in Victoria, supporting children during school dental visits and promoting good oral health and dental hygiene.
Deena Noorain
Deena is a dedicated Dental Nurse at The Doreen Dentist who is passionate about creating a warm, comfortable, and positive experience for every patient.
Deena has a particular interest in children’s oral health and enjoys making dental visits a positive experience for younger patients. She values building genuine connections with patients of all ages and takes pride in being part of a team committed to delivering high quality, patient centred care.
Outside of work, Deena enjoys expressing her creativity through cooking, calligraphy, and art. She loves meeting new people and believes every interaction is an opportunity to learn, grow, and make a positive difference.
Leanne
Leanne is a friendly and approachable member of our dental team, working across both reception and dental assisting. She has been working in the dental industry for the past three and a half years and enjoys being able to support the clinic whenever she is needed.
With a warm and reassuring nature, Leanne loves helping patients feel comfortable and welcome from the moment they walk through the door. She understands that visiting the dentist can sometimes be daunting and takes pride in creating a positive and relaxed experience for every patient.
Outside of work, Leanne enjoys keeping active and playing netball. She also loves spending time with family and friends and making the most of her time away from the clinic.
Dr. Martha
Dentist
‘Getting people out of pain and bringing a smile back to their faces” is her motto.
Dr Martha did her BDS and Post Graduate in conservatory dentistry and Endodontics in India, before migrating to Australia in 2014 and has been practicing dentistry for over 10 years.
She has gained a wealth of experience and knowledge over the years by working in both the public and private sectors across rural NSW, Queensland and Victoria.
Dr Martha’s interests in Endodontics helped her to supervise and mentor dental students in the University of Queensland before moving to Melbourne in 2017.
Currently, Dr Martha is working as a senior dentist in a public hospital, as well as in a private clinic, on a weekly basis.
She believes in continuous learning and keeps abreast with the recent advances. Her friendly and relaxed chairside manner enables her to actively listen and spend quality time with her patients in customizing treatment plans in a thorough manner to help build genuine and strong relationships.
Dr Martha is a registered member of the Australian Dental Association and the Australian Society of Endodontology.
Outside work Dr Martha enjoys spending time with her husband and little son, who keeps her on her toes. She also loves reading, music and travelling.
Dr. Ancy Varghese
Dental Practitioner
Dr. Ancy graduated Bachelors of Dentistry in 2009 with the aim to make the dental experience to patients reliable and stress free. She believes in the importance of giving patients a comfortable experience as well as providing them with exceptional dental care. Her main field of interest is general dentistry with experience in scaling, restorative work, teeth whitening and extractions.
When she is not at the clinic, she is at the centre of her family’s attention busy with her 2 little kids. Her favorite hobbies are swimming and playing chess to unwind from her busy yet rewarding life.
